August 28, can you believe it? Next Monday is Labor Day.
Nationally, that holiday weekend is looked on as the last hurrah of summer. In Arizona it means that the number of 100-degee days is starting to wind down. It also means things are picking up at our office. Here’s what I mean:

Our summer contest comes to an end with this week’s ads. I hope that they proved to be beneficial and created some new regular customers for participating businesses.
The final drawing will be next Thursday, Sept. 5.

One sure sign of fall at The Times office is that the renewal notices for the Fountain Hills and Verde Communities Telephone Directory were being compiled during the month of August and they went into the mail last week to advertisers. Any business operator may take advantage of the 10 percent discount being offered to those who pay off their advertising charges by Oct. 18.
We now offer three new packages under the Marketplace. This is one of the features on the new Fountain Hills Times Online website that can also be accessed by entering fhphonebook.com.
The business operator can decide how many features their business can use to better promote the products and services they offer. Choices are The Free Listing, the Gold Package and The Platinum
Package. An upgraded plan can be purchased for as little as $10 a month.

The HOME edition is another of our publications coming up.
It is scheduled to be distributed in mid-October. The distribution will include mailed copies to all homes and businesses in the 85268 (Fountain Hills) and 85259 (northeast Scottsdale) zip codes.
There will be additional distribution through racks in northeast Scottsdale, the Fountain Festival of Arts and Crafts in November and the Great Fair in February as well.
Story content will include a roundup of the current market conditions for Fountain Hills and Scottsdale real estate, remodeling, landscaping and home improvement ideas, tips on selling a home in the current market and mortgage rates and availability of loans.

Here’s a special note to anyone considering advertising in The Times. The Sept. 18 issue has a special 50 percent discount on all display advertising in that issue only.
