William C. Thompson III, M.D.

William Clyne Thompson III, M.D., born Aug. 28, 1942 in Detroit, Mich., passed away on his 74th birthday due to complications of Parkinson’s disease.

An honor graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, Bill served his country as a General Medical Officer with the Navy in Vietnam (’68-’69). He then completed a radiology residency at the University of Toronto where he met his beloved wife, Michele.

Bill subsequently completed specialty boards in nuclear medicine and interventional radiology.

Over their 42 years of marriage, he and Michele had sons, William IV (Summer) and James (Maggie); and welcomed grandsons, Jackson and Maxwell. Also surviving are his sisters, Kathryn (Robert) Miller and Patricia (Jeffrey) Lund and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony was held in Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in his honor (michaeljfox.org).
