Posted

Mary Virginia Bradford Morris, 97, of Fountain Hills, formerly of Minnetonka, Minn. passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on June 25, 1920 to Regina and William Bradford.

She was preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Georgia Book, and her beloved spouse, John (Jack) Morris, Sr.

Mary was a constant giver, donating her time to the Church, Meals on Wheels and anyone who needed help. Mary was an eternal hostess, always wanting to entertain.

Besides working as an administrative assistant throughout her time in Minnesota, she also did catering, as she was a fabulous cook and an amazing baker. Each year, Mary would produce up to 50 boxes of her famous Fudge, to give out to anyone and everyone for Christmas.

Mary was also very passionate about interior design, keeping her home up to date with the latest trends. She never backed away from being politically active, writing letters to the editor at the Minneapolis Star & Tribune, or even writing to her senator/representatives on issues that were near and dear to her heart.

Mary met and married Jack Morris, the love of her life, in Hollywood, Calif., on Nov. 1, 1946. They shared a love of music, as Jack was a trumpet player in a band there. When they decided upon a career change, Mary and Jack moved to their longtime home in Minnesota, where they had three children, Jack Jr., Mike who is married to Tracie, and Michele who is married to Bruce Regan. Jack and Mary have five grandchildren, Erin and Kendall Regan, Max, Halle and Ryan Morris.

Mary and her husband retired and moved to Fountain Hills in 1985 where they enjoyed their friends, Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church and the lovely community of Fountain Hills for the remainder of her life.

Mary was a woman supportive of her friends and the community. Until recently she was an active member of the Herb society, and the “Birthday Club” with many of the women she befriended at her Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church. Mary was delighted with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, church and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made either to Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church dedicated to grounds and/or music program
