Julia J. Fenderson

Posted

Julia J. Fenderson entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016; two days shy of her 90th birthday.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1926 in Pollocksville, N.C., the seventh of eight children to Lydia Pollock and Albert W. Jones. Julia was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ralph, to whom she had been married almost 65 years, and great-grandchild, Gavin Eugene MacRae.

Julia is survived by her six children, Stephen (Sheila) Fenderson, Gregory (Linda, “Dobbs”) Fenderson, Judith (William) Pohle, Joyce (Daniel) Coury, Susan (Harold) Seiff, and Sharon Fenderson; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a great niece; as well as several nieces and nephews back east.

Julia enjoyed traveling, was a talented seamstress, and an avid reader. She took great pride in her work for the government in D.C., her work for MGM Studios, and later, the Scottsdale City Library, from which she retired.

Most importantly, Julia took pride in raising six children, which included two singleton boys and two sets of twin girls. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A long-time resident of Fountain Hills, Julia spent her last two years in Scottsdale. The family wishes to express gratitude to Belmont Village for the loving care provided.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 30, at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St, Mesa. A Mass in Julia's honor will be held at a later date.
