Joy Lynne Walker, age 75, died Jan. 19, 2015 in Fountain Hills.
Joy was born on May 23, 1939 in Oak Park, Ill., the only child of Frank and Marie (Horna) Simpach. She graduated from Hinsdale High School, Illinois in 1957 and then attended Lake Forest College in Illinois where she was active as a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
On Oct. 26, 1963 she and Arlo Walker were united in Holy Matrimony at St. Mary's Church in Riverside, Ill. Together they raised three sons, Bradford, Jeffrey and Gregory. Joy worked as a receptionist for several businesses and particularly enjoyed her time at Madison, Wis. radio stations WTSO/WZEE and television station WISC.
In retirement, she and Arlo moved to Fountain Hills where they enjoyed living in the home they built.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her three sons and their families, including six beloved grandchildren.
Joy’s name reflected her personality. She was quick with her beautiful smile and kind words and brightened the day of those around her. Even in declining health she enjoyed life and kept her good spirit which was evident to anyone who visited her.
Joy was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend and will be greatly missed.
