Joy Kleinau

Posted

Long-time Fountain Hills resident Joy Kleinau passed away peacefully the morning of Oct. 15, 2014.

Joy was born in Chicago, Ill. on Feb. 19, 1932 to Vera and Carl Boettcher. She grew up in Chicago where she met and married the late Nyle Kleinau. Joy was a homemaker in LaGrange, Ill. with her husband, Nyle, and their two children, Nancy, and the late Ken. After the children were raised she started a business selling wild game to some of the finest restaurants in Chicago.

She moved to Arizona in 1988 and with her entrepreneurial spirit became a Realtor, which she loved doing for many years. She was an avid golfer, sports fanatic and loved her construction projects.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kleinau, son-in-law, Dan Melchert, her beloved husky, Maya, and dear friends, Elaine and Wally Zapfel.

There will be a celebration of her life at the Kleinau home on Saturday, Nov. 15. We will definitely miss all the “Joy” that she brought to us during her lifetime.
