John F. Konchan

John Francis Konchan passed away peacefully at age 52 on Jan. 31, 2016. He was born Nov. 30, 1963 in Ridgewood, Queens, N.Y. He moved to Arizona in 1979. John was a beloved son, brother, uncle, Godfather, and a wonderful friend.

He is survived by his loving mother, Rosemarie Konchan of Fountain Hills; brother, Donald Konchan of Tucson; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Michael Braun of Port Jervis, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Terri Konchan of Scottsdale; three nieces, and five nephews. He is also survived by his dear friend of 45 years, Mary Mullally of Brooklyn, N.Y.

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank John Konchan; his nephew and Godson, Daniel Konchan.

John cured every problem with a big hug and an “I love you.” He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree for 27 years. He was an usher for his church for 30 years. He loved singing and dancing to Elvis music. French vanilla ice cream, cheesecake, vanilla yogurt, diet coke, and Phoenix Suns were his favorite.

He enjoyed his yearly summer trips to New York to visit family and friends, especially Mary Mullally.

A visitation was held on Feb. 4, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Boulevard. Funeral mass was held Friday, Feb. 5, at Church of the Ascension, 12615 N. Fountain Hills Boulevard.
