Gale Joseph Konop

Gale Joseph Konop, 62, of Fountain Hills, went home to Heaven on May 21, 2016, at Hospice of the Valley-Sherman Home in Phoenix after suffering a brain injury from a fall.

Gale was raised in Kewaunee, Wis., and served in the Air Force in Duluth, Minn. He was a selfless volunteer, always willing to help others. He had a love of tennis and driving.

He resided in Fountain Hills and is survived by his loving wife Judy H. Konop of 29 years, two daughters Jessica Fitchorn (Doug), Jennifer Lynn Robb (Jaron) and one son Joel Konop (Jamie) along with his eight grandchildren.

He also leaves behind his two brothers, David Konop (Kewaunee, Wis.), Dan Konop (Green Bay, Wis.) and his sisters, Bonnie Valdez (Othello, Wash.), Sue Kostka (Kewaunee, Wis.), and JoAnn Gustavson (Madison, Wis.).

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph F Konop (2005) and Mary Ellen Konop (2011) and his sister Baby Ann.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 16150 E. El Largo Blvd, Fountain Hills 85268, with a light meal served during the visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, also at the church.

Military honors will be served at the National Cemetery of Arizona following the service where Gale will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Hospice of the Valley or the Arizona Cursillo Community.
