Eugene (Gene) C. Sundt, may all your life be music!

Eugene Sundt was born on Oct. 6, 1926; and preceded in death by his mother, father and brother.

Gene is survived by his beloved wife, Donna (Ulrikson), married for 65 years; daughter, Jeanne (Lee) Gren; son, David Sundt; sister-in-law, Audrey Sundt; four grandchildren, Alissa (Aaron Hawley), Janelle (Dan DiLuccia), Joleen Sundt (Dan), and Justin Sundt (Melissa); three great-grandchildren, Mason, Violet, and Anna; nieces and nephews, Jim Ulrikson (Debbie), Kenny Ulrikson (Dawn), Marvin Ulrikson (Victoria), Marilyn (David Fenn), Barbara Willcutt, Bob Mills (Cathy), David Mills (Lori), and Dan Sundt (Leslie); cousins; friends; and special friends, Karen and Perry Ferrero.

Gene grew up in south Minneapolis, graduating from Roosevelt High School and MacPhail School of Music (BA, MA) and post-graduate work. Gene taught music in Mountain Iron, Minn., Canton, S.D. and St. Louis Park, Minn.

He was an all-state choral director for two years. He directed church choirs at Canton Lutheran, Canton, S.D.; Wooddale Lutheran, Minneapolis and Church of the Good Shepherd, Minneapolis.

Gene and Donna have been faithful members of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, for 45 years. The church has been a very important part of his entire life.

Gene was a very gifted man in music, woodcarving, painting and fishing. He lived each day to the fullest. Gene died peacefully at York Gardens, with his faithful wife by his side, on Nov. 8, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church or the Retreat Center.

Funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 14, with visitation prior to the service at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. Interment is at Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton, S.D. www.Washburn-McReavy.com Edina Chapel 952-920-3996.
