Chester T. Grzanka, 73, of Fountain Hills passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2015.

Chester was born Oct. 16, 1941 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn where he became a member of the Cardinals Choir during his grammar school years.

He went on to Fordham Preparatory School (Class of 1959), where he played varsity football, and was always thankful for his Jesuit education. Chester received his business degree from Pace University in 1968, after he had started his family. He retired from a long and successful career in IT.

He made Fountain Hills his permanent residence after retiring and remarrying in 1999, where he had been a property owner and a vacationer since the town began.

He is predeceased by his parents, Chester and Theodora Grzanka; a brother, Michael Grzanka, and a sister, Kathleen Fazziola. He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Whitton-Grzanka; his son, Kevin Grzanka and daughter-in-law Sherry Grzanka of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; step-son, Daniel Whitton of Kentfield, Calif.; step-daughter, Christine Whitton of Ahwatukee; ex-son-in-law, Kurt Pfeifer of Fountain Hills; grandchildren Gehrig and Jackson Grzanka, Kyle, Cole and Tyler Pfeifer, Kaytlin Whitton, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and aunts and one uncle. He will be missed dearly by his family.
