Betty Joan Foley

Posted

Betty Joan Foley, 76, formerly of Fountain Hills, died on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015.

Joan (known to her friends and family as “Puffy” or “Joanie”) was born in Evanston, Ill., Nov. 3, 1939 where she made many life-long friends. However, hating the cold, she moved to attend college at University of Arizona and loved it.

After college, she moved to California where she raised her children and dedicated herself to her work at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. After 20 years in California, she returned to the desert she loved, finding her home in Fountain Hills.

She worked until her retirement for the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale as a medical transcriptionist.

Joan is still beloved and survived by her two daughters, seven grandchildren and many friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at Lon’s at the Hermosa Inn at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16. Please contact Jill Foley Turner at jillfturner@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
