Betty Mae Gorby

Betty Mae Gorby, born in Alliance, Ohio on Aug. 31, 1924, was the middle of five children born to Edwin and Emily Gfeller.

Betty married Al Gorby in 1942. They had two children, Linda Wright Lulkovich and Eric Gorby (deceased).

The family moved to Scottsdale in 1956 where they resided until later moving to Fountain Hills.

Betty retired from the Scottsdale School District where she worked as a cafeteria manager. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, crafts and watching the Suns and D-Backs.

Betty is survived by two sisters, Joanne Shively and Lucille Rice, both of North Benton, Ohio; daughter Linda, son-in-law Tom Lulkovich; granddaughters, Kim Kurzman, Stacey Muto, Jessica Murray, Erica Larsen, Emily Gorby; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, with memorial services at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd. in Scottsdale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Reflections Hospice, 1840 E. University Drive, Mesa, AZ 85203, in loving memory of Betty Gorby.
