Posted

Jared C. Carter, 35, of Fountain Hills, loving husband of Hope Coates passed away suddenly on Aug. 11, 2013 as a result of a tragic automobile accident in Mesa.

He was born on Nov. 17, 1977 in Mesa where he resided until his marriage to the light of his life four years ago. Theirs was a true love story.

He graduated from Westwood High School and attended Mesa Community College. Jared will be remembered for his kindness, his devotion, and his love of God, and for the inspiration he and Hope gave to the Down Syndrome Community by speaking to families of children with disabilities and showing them the wonderful life their children can live.

He was involved with Special Olympics where he went to the National Games for golfing. He enjoyed bowling, baseball and country music. They loved to travel especially the road trips to Colorado and New Jersey.

Jared leaves behind his mother, Pam Carter; his father and step-mother, Hal and Karen Carter and her extended family; his brother Vance (Becca) and nephew Devlyn. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gayle and George Coates, with whom he and Hope resided.

He will be greatly missed by his many dear friends from Special Olympics, Mesa Parks and Rec Adaptive programs and Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona.

Please make donations, in lieu of flowers, to Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona, www.sharingds.org, or Special Olympics AZ in memory of Jared.

Memorial services will take place at a later date. Please contact Messinger Mortuary for further details.
