Voting is now open for citizens to select a winning community project in the Republic Rewards Community Grant Program.

Republic Rewards is a community recycling rewards program available to Fountain Hills residents who receive their recycling services through Republic Services.

Five groups in Fountain Hills are asking residents to support them as they compete for $10,000 in grant funding from Republic Services.

*Fearless Kitty Rescue: Program for lost cats and spaying/neutering.

*The River of Time Museum: Transform the passive reception room to an interactive and engaging exhibit.

*Experience Fountain Hills: Support for “Movie in the Park” and Fountain Hills Music Festival.

*Fountain Hills Botanical Garden: Beautification of entry to gardens.

*Noon Kiwanis Club of Fountain Hills: Replace children’s “tot lot” at Golden Eagle Park.

Registered citizens can participate by visiting the Republic website at www.republicgivesback.com.

They can use any points they have collected for recycling and designate them for one of the projects. Residents who would like to participate in selecting the grant recipients but have not yet registered for Republic Rewards can sign up at the above website or the Town of Fountain Hills website, www.fh.az.gov.

Participants can assign their rewards points to one of the projects as often as they like during the voting period, which ends at 12 p.m. on July 31.

The winner of the $10,000 grant will be announced no later than Aug. 14.
