Veterans plan Dec. 7 Pearl Harbor event

Three veteran organizations will conduct a memorial service on Wednesday, Dec. 7, in Fountain Park to honor those who lost their lives in the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. The surprise attack led to the United States’ entry into World War II.
Dan Margolis will hand out 500 American flags to guests as they enter the park at 10:30 a.m.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7507 Color Guard will post the colors at 10:50 a.m., followed by Debbie Fisher singing the National Anthem.
Pilot Jack Fedor will coordinate a Missing Man flyover formation at 10:56 a.m.
Lou Maegdin of VFW Post 7507 will give the opening prayer at 11 a.m. AMVETS Post 7 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Welcome and opening remarks will come from American Legion Post 58.
Keynote speaker will be VFW commander Carl Krawczyk.
Barbara Swanberg will sing “America the Beautiful.” Fisher will close the program with “Taps.”
The program is expected to end shortly after 11:45 a.m.
