Verdes church to host PAL meetings

Posted

Parents of Addicted Loved Ones will begin meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. (until 8:30 p.m.) in the chapel of Community Church of the Verdes.

PAL provides continuing education and support, at no charge, for parents struggling to cope with a son or daughter with an addiction. PAL can also help spouses who are forced to act like a parent to their addicted partner. All other sober family members and friends over 18 years of age are also welcome to attend the meetings.

By attending the meetings, you will learn proven ways to help your loved one toward recovery from addiction. You will also be able to give and receive support from others who are facing the same challenges.

We value confidentiality, and we focus on a non-judgmental approach. We are parents helping parents. No need to call or register; just show up.

Parents who have gone through the process and have received training from PAL will facilitate the meetings.

Kim Humphrey, Chairman of the Board of PAL, will be at Community Church of the Verdes on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. worship to speak about PAL.

The meetings will continue weekly.

The church’s chapel is located just off the inner courtyard adjacent to the sanctuary.

Call Cathy Northrup at the church at 480-471-7239 to have questions answered.
