Turkey Trot huge success

More than 1,100 participants braved a chilly Thanksgiving morning in Fountain Hills for the annual Turkey Trot event.
There was a 5-mile run added to this year’s competition to go with the 5K run and the fun walk for those just wanting to start the day with some exercise.
The top five male finishers in the 5K run were Kyle Marks (15:55), Jonathan Stern (16:29), Jozsef Major (16:47), Jason Scronic (17:07) and Ian Chapple (17:22).
The top female finishers in the 5K race included Tanya Belliard (19:20), Amanda Ross (20:34), Cortney Covers (21:02), Isabelle Clausen (21:05) and Brigette Schiess (21:25).
The 5-mile race was won by Michael Popejoy (24:03), followed by Michael Carson (28:05), Scott Jarriel (29:16), Sam Hallam (29:19) and Mathew Kowalsky (29:23).
The top females in the five miler were Amanda Leone (33:46), Julianne Bridgnell (34:50), Criselle Hagerman (36:02), Rachel Schafer (36:51) and Joyel Sweet (37:00).
