Thanksgiving Day Parade

Posted

Thousands lined Saguaro and Palisades boulevards on a chilly Thanksgiving morning in Fountain Hills to enjoy the annual Parada de los Cerros.

There were about 60 entries in the parade including civic and commercial as well as motorized, equestrian and veterans’ groups. There were also a number of political figures out to greet the public on the holiday.

Judges voted the Fountain Hills High School Fighting Falcon Band as “Best of Show” entry as well as the best marching or walking group in the parade.

The best civic/business entry was Kelly’s Dance Studio with younger students riding on a float and older students dancing their way through the parade route.

The Fountain Hills First Baptist Church was voted the best church/children’s entry with a Nativity on a float.

Grumpy/Carol Post was voted the best motorized entry by judges.

The Magnificent Minis, miniature horses, were named the best equestrian unit in the parade. They also carried a sign indicating they would be trying out this week for “America’s Got Talent” television show.
