Saguaro construction update
Posted
Nesbitt Contracting wrapped up the paving and put down temporary striping on Shea Boulevard last week, so now the contractor can focus on the Saguaro Boulevard reconstruction project.
The company posted its project update on www.saguaroboulevard.com late last week outlining the schedule for the upcoming month.
Work will continue on removal and replacement of concrete curbing on the west side between El Lago Boulevard and Ledferd Lane.
The grinding of the old asphalt surface will also be continuing between El Lago and Ledferd. The millings from the old pavement will be used on site as base material for the new surface.
Work to realign water and sewer lines in the Saguaro/Palisades intersection will continue. That work is being done to accommodate storm drain installation, which is also set to begin this month.
Nesbitt will begin to install the first layer, or base course, of asphalt on the southbound lanes between El Lago and Kingstree boulevards around mid-May.
During construction traffic is being restricted to one lane in each direction, currently in the eastbound lanes, between Ledferd and Fountain Hills Boulevard.
Motorists are urged to watch for unexpected traffic control changes and obey speed limits in the area. Access to all businesses along Saguaro is being maintained during construction.
The work on Saguaro began in February and is scheduled to be completed in October.
