Gale Konop passes away, services this week

The life of Gale Joseph Konop will be celebrated at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 16150 E El Lago Blvd., on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. Konop passed away over the weekend after suffering injuries from a high fall. He was a steadfast volunteer for the Extended Hands Food Bank in Fountain Hills.

A light buffet-style meal will be served in the fellowship hall during the visitation. For information, call 480-837-9532. There will be no public viewing with the mortuary.

The funeral will be held at the same location on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. The sanctuary will be available for visitation prior to the service at 10 a.m. for family and friends.

Burial will take plac at the National Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd. in Phoenix on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. An escorted procession will leave from the church parking lot promptly at 11:40 a.m. for full military services to be conducted at the cemetery. No additional gatherings are planned after the burial.

About 20 family members will be flying in from out of town and will join in sharing memories, laughter, and tears as we celebrate Gale J. Konop.
