Environmental fee prompts special council session
Posted
The Town Council has called for a special session on Tuesday, Feb. 9, to discuss issues arising from the environmental fee billing. The council will discuss and likely direct staff regarding billing address problems and other issues related to the billing process.
The town estimates staff has received in excess of 200 phone calls regarding the fee, as well as walk-ins with questions and comments. As of Jan. 21, 32 payments had been received.
Staff has prepared a memo with four pages of questions and issues that have arisen as a result of the proposed fee. Council needs to provide direction on how it wants staff to proceed to address the problems.
The council will meet beginning at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The session is open to the public.
