Council to hold budget discussions this week

The Town Council will be meeting this week to go over its proposed $38 million budget for the 2015/16 fiscal year.

The council has scheduled two special sessions for Tuesday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 22. The meetings will be held at 5 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall.

The budget includes a $23 million in operating funds with increases in both public safety contracts.

The capital improvement budget of $14.6 million includes funds for completion of the Saguaro Boulevard reconstruction, as well as Fire Station #2 relocation.

The Wednesday meeting will be held only if necessary. The sessions are open to the public.
