Workers install a new radio tower at the Fountain Hills Fire Station No. 1 on Palisades Boulevard Tuesday morning.

The 75-foot tower is replacing one that needs to be relocated to accommodate the construction of a new addition to the rear of the fire station.

The new tower sits on the upper level of the lot to the front of the station. Fire Chief Randy Roberts said the new site will help eliminate some of the communications dead spots around town. Rural/Metro is paying for the tower relocation.
