Rain finally arrives in FH

After an unexpectedly dry weekend and missing a storm that struck the Valley Monday night, rain finally arrived in Fountain Hills on Tuesday afternoon with a strong shower leaving about a quarter inch in a rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive.
Maricopa County Flood Control District monitoring sites in Fountain Hills recorded sporatic rainfall across town. There was .12-inch at Stoneridge Dam near Cholla Drive between Sycamore Drive and Fountain Hills Boulevard. The fire station on Palisades Boulevard and the North Heights Dam each received about .04-inch as of 3 p.m.
The National Weather Service had issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for the area until 4:14 p.m. The Weather Service forecast has an increasing chance of rain by Wednesday afternoon and continuing into Thursday and Friday.
