Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported domestic violence call in the 16000 block of Keymar Drive on Monday, March 16, and found a man who had received a stab wound to the hand.

Deputies learned that the man and his wife had been drinking and got into an argument. She pulled a kitchen knife from a block holder and attempted to stab him. He raised his arm to deflect the blow and was struck in the hand near his wrist.

The man was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a minor wound and released.

The woman was arrested, but charges are pending completion of the investigation.

*On Monday, March 16, deputies received a report from security at the Fountain Hills Target store that a man was observed on video surviellance taking three sets of headphones with an estimated total value of $800.

*On Sunday, March 15, employees at the Fountain Hills Denny’s restaurant reported three people left without paying for their meal valued at $37.85.

*On Sunday, March 15, personnel at the Fountain Hills Walgreen’s store reported a man was drunk and became disorderly in the store when he could not find his wallet. Deputies were told the man is a regular customer and the behavior is unusual for him.

*On Monday, March 16, a Fountain Hills man reported he received notice from the state of Maryland that an unknown person had filed a false tax return using his information.

*On Sunday, March 15, deputies arrested a Phoenix man when he was found smoking marijuana in public. The man had a medical marijuana card, which does not permit smoking in public. He faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Monday, March 16, a 30-year-old Fountain Hills man was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence in the 16000 block of Fairfax Drive.

*On Tuesday, March 17, a Fountain Hills resident was notified by the IRS that someone had filed a tax return using their Social Security number.

*On Monday, March 16, a deputy stopped a Casa Grande man on SR 87 and cited him for reckless driving. The deputy reported the man was weaving in traffic, speeding, not using a turn signal and following too close.

*On Saturday, March 21, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for DUI near Fountain Hills Boulevard and Pinto Drive. The woman was stopped after she was observed speeding on Shea Boulevard.

*On Saturday, March 21, deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident on Shea Boulevard near Saguaro Boulevard. Each driver told deputies that the other turned into them as they approached Saguaro traveling west. There were no independent witnesses and no citations were issued.

*On Sunday, March 1, a Fountain Hills woman reported she was told by her accountant that someone had filed a fraudulent tax return using her identification.

*On Thursday, March 19, a resident of the 17000 block of Grande Boulevard reported someone had driven through their front yard, causing damage to the landscaping, and left the scene.

*On Thursday, March 19, a man was arrested for trespassing when he refused to leave after being told to leave.

*On Saturday, March 21, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had stolen $300 cash from her purse at her home in the 17000 block of Dull Knife Drive.
