Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies in Fountain Hills investigated a report by a local woman that she had been assaulted by her brother at his apartment in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard on Thursday, April 16.

The woman reported her brother is disabled and she had spent much of the day helping him with errands, they had lunch and visited their mother.

The two began to argue on the way to his home and the alleged assault occurred after she had helped him into the apartment.

She went to the Sheriff’s substation to report the assault and the reporting deputy stated there were visible injuries on her body and a sleeve on her shirt torn.

The brother was arrested for domestic violence assault.

*In the waning days leading up to the income tax deadline, the Sheriff’s Office received five reports from people stating their Social Security numbers had been used by unknown persons to file fraudulent income tax returns. The Sheriff’s Office is passing these reports on to IRS investigators.

*On Monday, April 13, a resident of the 10000 block of Nicklaus Drive reported two flower pots with a $200 total value were stolen from in front of her home.

*On Saturday, April 11, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had punctured the tires of his truck parked in the 17000 block of LaPasada Drive.

*On Saturday, April 11, a suspect was observed on surveillance video taking items valued at $381 without paying at the Fountain Hills Target store.

On Tuesday, April 14, deputies investigated a collision at Fountain Hills and Shea boulevards. A vehicle traveling west on Shea made a right turn onto Fountain Hills when they were struck by a vehicle traveling north on Fountain Hills Boulevard through the intersection. There were no injuries.

*On Tuesday, April 7, MCSO was called to an accident at Fountain Hills and Shea boulevards. Two drivers involved stated a third person driving recklessly caused the rear-end collision when they passed one of the vehicles as the pavement narrowed to one lane. That driver continued without stopping.

*On Tuesday, April 14, deputies received a report from the Morningside community HOA that someone had caused $150 in damage to landscape lights along Panorama Drive.

*On Tuesday, April 14, a Fountain Hills woman was arrested for extreme DUI with a blood alcohol level exceeding .20. Deputies located the woman in the parking lot of a grocery store after deputies received a report she left work and a doctor’s appointment intoxicated.

*On Wednesday, April 15, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle at the gas pumps at the Circle K on Shea Boulevard. MCSO made contact with the man and arrested him for aggravated DUI, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Thursday, April 9, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had stolen property from her home in the 16000 block of Montrose Drive. She reported cash, electronics and jewelry were missing with a value of $3,800.

*On Tuesday, April 14, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone used her identification information without her permission.

*On Wednesday, April 15, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for making threats to tenants living in a house he owned. He wanted to evict them and had been drinking. He made the alleged threats by phone.

*On Thursday, April 16, a Phoenix woman reported to Phoenix police that someone had used her Social Security number to obtain a job at a Fountain Hills business. She reported that the IRS notified her she owed back taxes. MCSO declined to take the case and referred the woman to the FBI and IRS.

*On Friday, April 17, a Fountain Hills man, age 18, obtained domestic violence assault charges after causing a disturbance and damage at his home in the 13000 block of Bittersweet Drive. He was cited for two counts of criminal damage, two counts of assault and disorderly conduct.

*On Friday, April 17, a resident of the 16000 block of Gunsight Drive reported a rear patio door had been broken.

On Friday, April 17, deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man for DUI in the area of Shea Boulevard and Eagle Mountain Parkway. The man was stopped after he was observed driving slowly and not staying within a single lane.

*On Friday, April 17, a Scottsdale man was cited for criminal speed, traveling 89 miles per hour on Rio Verde Drive where the speed limit is 50.

*On Saturday, April 18, deputies received a report of criminal damage (graffiti) at a business in the 16000 block of Palisades Boulevard.

*On Saturday, April 18, deputies investigated a collision on Golden Eagle Boulevard near Golden Eagle Park. A motorist traveling north on Golden Eagle attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by a second northbound vehicle. The driver making the U-turn was cited for an unsafe turn, no driver license in her possession and no proof of insurance.
