Sheriff’s deputies assisted adult probation officers with the arrest of a Fountain Hills man on Monday, May 11.

The man was arrested on a warrant for probation violations. Deputies found at the scene a shotgun, expandable striking baton, methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

A second suspect at the scene was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a shoplifting charge.

*On Friday, May 8, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision on Fountain Hills Boulevard involving a U.S. Postal Service vehicle. Both vehicles were northbound at the red light when the postal truck was rear-ended by the second vehicle. There were no injuries and no visible damage.

*On Friday, May 8, a Fountain Hills woman reported her purse missing after leaving it behind at a grocery store. Store personnel were unable to find it and the woman called deputies to report the incident. The woman was later contacted by a person who had found her purse to return it.

*On Sunday, May 10, a male suspect was observed on security surveillance shoplifting a $250 smart watch from the Fountain Hills Target store.

*On Saturday, May 9, a Fountain Hills woman called to complain about a neighbor using foul language and directing racial slurs at neighbors. The neighbor told deputies he suffers from a medical condition that causes the inappropriate behavior.

*On Saturday, May 9, a woman living in the Rio Verde area reported receiving threats after she had an argument with a neighbor.

*On Wednesday, May 13, a Fountain Hills woman reported she had been contacted by telephone by a suspect who was able to get her personal identity information including a Social Security number, credit card information and date of birth.

*On Wednesday, May 13, deputies received a report from the Fountain Hills Sanitary District of graffiti damage to exterior walls at the district treatment facility on Pepperwood Circle.

*On Thursday, May 14, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had broken out a rear window of her van parked in a driveway in the 16000 block of Westby Drive. Damage is estimated at $500.

*On Thursday, May 14, a Mesa woman working with a cleaning crew at a residence in the 11000 block of Saguaro Boulevard reported the rear driver side window of her vehicle was broken out while she was working.

*On Friday, May 15, deputies were called to a residence in the 17000 block of Calle del Oro when a woman reported she and her mother were assaulted by her sister. Deputies responded to the area several times during the evening and were unable to confirm the woman’s report. The sister was not immediately located to interview.

*On Friday, May 15, deputies responded to a single-vehicle traffic accident on Shea Boulevard west of Eagle Mountain Parkway. The driver told deputies she lost control on a flooded patch of roadway and ended up on the median where she struck a tree. Neither the driver nor a passenger in the vehicle was injured. The driver was cited for failure to control her vehicle to avoid a collision.

*On Sunday evening, May 17, the Sheriff’s Office used a helicopter to search for a missing man in a wash area off Thistle Drive. The man was located unharmed.
