Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fountain Hills man after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend during an altercation on Thursday, Nov. 19.

According to the Sheriff’s report, the man entered the woman’s apartment in the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard and in the course of an argument he slapped her in the face and damaged property.

The woman’s phone was also damaged, so she contacted a Facebook friend to ask that they contact the Sheriff’s Office.

The man faces charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage, disorderly conduct and interference with a judicial proceeding for violating a court order of protection.

*On Sunday, Nov. 15, a Phoenix man, 35, was arrested for DUI. He was stopped in the 12000 block of La Montana Drive after deputies responded to a report of an unwanted guest at his ex-girlfriend’s home.

*On Saturday, Nov. 14, deputies investigated a collision at El Lago and Saguaro boulevards. A motorist traveling north reported they stopped for a red flashing light and then proceeded when they believed it was safe. She was struck in the intersection by a vehicle traveling east on El Lago. That motorist also said they had stopped for the light, but added the northbound car did not stop. Passengers in each vehicle supported the version of each driver. There were no independent witnesses to the accident. No citations were issued.

*On Saturday, Nov. 14, a vehicle traveling west on Glenbrook Boulevard collided with a concrete mailbox stand at Peachtree Drive. The driver told deputies they had no recollection as to what happened. They were transported to a Scottsdale hospital for evaluation.

*On Tuesday, Nov. 10, a woman reported her vehicle was struck by another vehicle in the Bashas’ store parking lot and the motorist kept going. The victim followed the vehicle for a distance before returning to the parking lot where a witness verified the incident. Deputies believe the hit-and-run driver is the same woman who was involved in a single-car accident in the CVS parking lot on Palisades. Deputies suspect alcohol played a role in the accident and the woman was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained.

*On Tuesday, Nov. 10, a resident of the 15000 block of Mustang Drive reported someone removed a bank bag from their residence. The bag contained $5,900 in cash and checks.

*On Friday, Nov. 13, deputies investigated a reported hit-and-run accident at Kingstree Boulevard and Appian Way. A motorist westbound on Kingstree was stopped to make a left onto Appian Way when they were struck from behind by a second vehicle. The second driver did inspect for damage with the first driver, but then said she had to go and left the scene. Deputies later contacted the driver who said she did not think there was any damage and she was late for an important appointment. She was cited for failure to control her vehicle to avoid a collision, but no hit-and-run charges.

*On Friday, Nov. 13, three vehicles were involved in a chain reaction rear-end collision on Hampstead Drive and Bainbridge Ave. The third driver was cited.

*On Friday, Nov. 20, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision in the 14000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. A man traveling east on Saguaro from Fountain Hills Boulevard collided with a pick-up with a trailer parked at a residence delivering furniture. The man told deputies he was distracted rearranging coats in the cab of his truck and took his eyes off the road when the accident occurred. The man was cited for failure to control his speed to avoid a collision and cited for driving with a suspended license.

*On Friday, Nov. 20, the leader of the local Elks Lodge reported the theft of antlers from the lodge building in the 16000 block of Parkview Ave. The property is valued at $350.

*On Friday, Nov. 20, a Mesa man was cited for excessive speed on Shea Boulevard where he was reportedly travelling 72 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50.

*On Friday, Nov. 20, a Fountain Hills man, 19, reported being assaulted outside his place of work. The man was working at the Safeway store and removing trash to the outside collection bin where he found a woman rummaging through the bin. When he asked her to leave she refused and when he took a photo of her license plate she grabbed him before fleeing in her vehicle. Deputies found no record of the personalized license plate on the vehicle.

*On Saturday, Nov. 21, deputies stopped and cited a 16-year-old male from Scottsdale for traveling 83 miles per hour on Shea Boulevard where the speed limit is 50. The driver told deputies his dad had let him take the car out for a drive and he was going nowhere specific.

*On Sunday, Nov. 22, deputies cited a Phoenix man for speeding on Shea Boulevard and also for operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device used with DUI drivers.
