A Fountain Hills man reported to Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday, April 7, that he was being threatened with injury to his property by another man.

The victim told deputies the suspect is a person who had been doing work at Fountain Hills property owned by the victim.

The man told deputies he was informed by a third party that the suspect would make the victim pay for hospital bills even if it meant breaking into his home.

Deputies are following up with interviews to others involved to determine criminal intent.

*On Tuesday, March 24, deputies received a shoplifting report from the Fountain Hills Target store. A man was observed on surveillance video removing an item from its packaging and concealing it as he left the store.

*On Saturday, April 4, deputies were called to 16000 block of Ashbrook Drive for a report of an unwelcome subject at a home. The suspect had entered the home and damaged a cell phone. He would not leave when asked.

*On Monday, April 6, security personnel at the Fountain Hills Target store reported a shoplifting incident in progress. The suspect was a Payson man known as a subject of interest in store shoplifting incidents.

In this instance he was seen taking a smartwatch valued at $163. Deputies have forwarded a request for burglary and trespassing charges to the Maricopa County Attorney’s office for review.

*On Tuesday, April 7, a Fountain Hills man reported that an unknown person had used his identification to file a fraudulent income tax return.

*On Tuesday, April 7, a Fountain Hills couple reported that they received word from the IRS that someone had filed a fraudulent tax return using their identification.

*On Wednesday, April 8, deputies followed up on a report from a Town of Fountain Hills employee that they had observed a possible DUI driver. Deputies made contact with the suspect. DUI charges are pending lab testing of a blood sample.
