Schweikert at GOP Saturday
Posted
Rep. David Schweikert of Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District will be the speaker at the Fountain Hills Republican Club meeting Saturday, April 18, at 9 a.m. at the Community Center.
Schweikert, a resident of Fountain Hills along with wife Joyce, was elected to his third term in 2014 in a district that encompasses not only Fountain Hills, but also includes north Phoenix, Scottsdale, portions of Cave Creek and Carefree and Rio Verde.
Schweikert is a leading proponent of reining in government spending, eliminating the deficit, reforming the tax code and reducing the size of government.
He is a long-time advocate of free enterprise, economic growth and veterans’ issues.
Recognized as a fiscal conservative, he is a detail-oriented “guy” with a background in statistics and actuarial studies.
He is a member of the House Committee on Financial Services and is one of only 20 members, from both the House and the Senate, chosen to serve on the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee.
Schweikert, former president of the Fountain Hills Republican Club, is an engaging speaker who will be addressing many of the major issues facing Congress during this critical period in time.
Republican Club meetings are open to all interested persons. No reservations are necessary. A “social time” begins at 8:30 a.m. with complimentary coffee and light breakfast refreshments.
The club has also begun a series of evening social events at various Fountain Hills restaurants. No speakers, just good political conversation in a casual setting; food and drink available for purchase.
The April “social” will be held on the patio of the Lexington Hotel on Tuesday, April 28, at 6 p.m. No reservations are needed.
Members are reminded that yearly dues are now overdue; new members are always welcome. Membership applications may be found on the club’s web site www.fhrepublicanclub.org
Dues may be paid at the April 18 meeting and at the April 28 social.
