Open house Wednesday at Toastmasters

Toastmasters invites residents to its open house tonight to meet members and watch special guest speaker Lisa Burnside, president of Burnside Dynamics LLC, talk about the importance of communication skills for today’s professional.

“Fountain Hills Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” says Doug Houle, club president for Toastmasters Club 6993.

After hearing from Burnside, members and guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include Table Topic (impromptu speeches) and evaluations.

Club Coach Shelley Gabriel, who has served in various club positions, will be the Table Topics master.

“Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” says Gabriel.

“This is where guests and members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.”

The open house is Wednesday, April 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at First American Title, 13212 N. Saguaro Blvd.

For more information, email Shelley Gabriel at rochellegabriel@hotmail.com.

Fountain Hills Toastmasters Club meets each Wednesday at 6:30 pm. at the First American Title office at Saguaro and Palisades boulevards.
