The Home Builders Association of Central Arizona (HBACA) honored Scottsdale-based custom homebuilder Alexander Homes with three first place MAME (Major Achievement in Merchandise Excellence) awards.

The company also was a finalist in four additional categories. This marks the second time Alexander Homes has garnered first place awards in two individual categories for floor plans and Small Volume Builder of the Year.  Nominees are judged by a nation-wide panel of peers.

“We’re very honored to be recognized by our peers for the third year in a row, and ecstatic about being awarded the Small Volume Builder of the Year award two years running” said Steve Alexander, co-owner of Alexander Homes.

“We strive for excellence in every area of our business. From creating beautiful homes to meeting our client’s needs, and won’t settle for less than our best.”

Alexander Homes won first place for best floor plan for homes between $450,001 to $600,000 (Cordera) and best floor plan for homes over $600,000 (Portabello).

In the $300,001 to $450,000 floor plan category, Alexander Homes was a finalist for its Toscana model.

Dawn Hammarberg, Alexander Homes marketing director, was a finalist for sales and marketing manager of the year.

Alexander Homes also was a finalist for its Web site closing less than 1,000 homes annually and best color magazine advertisement.

The awards were presented at the 27th annual MAME dinner in March at J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort.

The Home Builders Association of Central Arizona (HBACA) is a trade association for the residential construction and development industry.

Alexander Homes has built custom homes for more than 50 years. Charles Alexander built his first home in Minnesota in 1954. More than 20 years later, he moved to Rio Verde, where he built homes.   

His sons, Chip and Steve Alexander, along with grandson Tom Alexander, continue the legacy of building
custom homes to exacting standards. The company lays claim to nearly 1,000 custom homes.
