Republic Rewards grant program returns
Posted
Republic Services, the trash and recycling collection provider for the Town of Fountain Hills, is set to roll out its annual Republic Rewards Community Grant Program.
In this third year of this program, Republic is offering a $10,000 grant to an organization that can propose a project or service in Fountain Hills, that will enhance the community in one or more of the following ways:
*Demonstrate stewardship of the environment
*Promote a healthy lifestyle.
*Enhance Fountain Hills’ natural beauty
*Provide education
*Provide public enjoyment.
Republic Services runs Republic Rewards for its customers in Fountain Hills and elsewhere (www.republicgivesback.com). Customers who register for the Republic Rewards program (which is free-of-charge) earn and accrue points for various activities, including recycling, watching informational videos, reading articles, etc.
On an annual basis during a set voting period, registered Republic Rewards customers vote their points toward their selection of the most compelling local project put forth by the grant nominees.
At the end of the voting period, the organization receiving the most votes for their proposed project receives the full amount of the grant from Republic. Typically, three to six local organizations are selected to stand as grant nominees. The deadline to submit applications is Thursday, Oct. 26.
Town of Fountain Hills Facilities/Environmental Supervisor Raymond Rees can answer questions people may have about submitting an application. He can be reached at 480-816-5180, or at rrees@fh.az.gov.
