Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Fort McDowell man following a traffic incident along Shea Boulevard extending from Saguaro Boulevard to State Route 87 on Thursday, July 27.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a driver doing “burnouts” on Shea Boulevard. A responding deputy was in the parking lot of the Circle K when the driver pulled into the lot. Upon seeing the deputy he continued through onto Trevino and onto Saguaro back to Shea.

He ran the red light at the intersection and continued toward SR 87 where deputies say he ran the red light at that location also. He spun out, making the turn to northbound Beeline and stalled in the median.

Deputies took the man into custody with citations for reckless driving, failure to stop for a police officer and failure to stop for a red light (two counts). Possible DUI charges are pending lab analysis of a blood sample.
