July Fourth observed by business, government
Posted
The Independence Day holiday means closings for government offices and other services in the area.
Town Hall will not be taking an extra day for the holiday, but is routinely closed on Friday, as will be the case on July 3.
The Community Center and the library will also be closed on Friday. The Community Center also has no events scheduled for Saturday, July 4, or Sunday, July 5.
The offices of the Fountain Hills School District are closed for the summer.
The Sanitary District and Chaparral City Water Company will have their offices closed on Friday, July 3, to observe the holiday. Sanitary and water personnel will be available in the event of an emergency by using the after-hours emergency telephone number.
Most bank branches in Fountain Hills maintain Saturday hours and will be closed Saturday, July 4. Those include Wells Fargo, Meridian Bank, Chase Bank and Bank of America. Washington Federal does not have regular Saturday hours and will not be taking an additional day for the holiday.
MidFirst Bank is closed Saturday, July 4 and on Sunday, July 5. U.S. Bank inside the Safeway store will be open on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Saturday, July 4, holiday will have no impact on the trash collection schedule in Fountain Hills.
The Times office will be closed on Friday, July 3, so Friday deadlines for display advertising will be moved to Wednesday, July 1, at 3 p.m. Monday deadlines for classified advertising and letters will not change.
