Welcome to Fountain Hills
By Wally Nichols, Mayor of Fountain Hills

On behalf of the Town of Fountain Hills and all its citizens, I welcome you to the community.

If you have been here awhile, you know how far we have come as a community. You have been part of the progress we have enjoyed in these years.

If you are a newcomer, I offer you a warm welcome and encourage you to explore your new town. There are so many opportunities and activities to enjoy, and I think you will find the longer-term residents a great resource.

If you are just visiting, by all means take some time to see what we have in store for you. Our cultural community continues to grow; our business base offers a variety of goods and services you as a tourist can enjoy. Also, our golf courses are world class. And the sheer beauty of the area will surely bring you back in the future.

While we enjoy spectacular natural beauty surrounding us on all sides, we also are surrounded by wonderful residents who make the community what it is. We have caring neighbors who know each other and look out for one another. We are blessed with the serenity and safety of living in a small town. We have outstanding schools that have all earned excelling ratings. Fountain Hills Unified School District is the only district in that state where every school has received the excelling rating. Our children receive individual attention and be inspired to learn. We enjoy a beautiful, well-planned and well-used park system. We are lucky to experience a plethora of arts, cultural and recreational activities designed for residents of all ages. We are served by a thriving and growing business community. I invite you to visit our new Town Hall, and the recently enhanced Avenue of the Fountains.

But the people are what make the community great. What has been a proud tradition in our town is the spirit of volunteerism. Volunteers welcome visitors to Town Hall, help in Parks and Recreation programs, assist our vibrant senior community and serve tirelessly on one of our many citizen advisory boards and commissions. They participate in the arts festivals, and community events that keep us busy and involved. In 2006, we, in partnership with Fort McDowell Yavapai Community, had more than 24 special events.

These thousands of active, dedicated volunteers make our lives easier, happier and more fulfilling every day.

Yes, we pride ourselves on being part of a community that is financially stable and growing sensibly. Our community leaders continually strive to make Fountain Hills a great place to live for people of all ages.

So – again, welcome to Fountain Hills! Or, as some of us like to say, "All that is Arizona."
